How to add a custom skin on iPhone and iPad
Put a custom skin on Bedrock Edition on an iPhone or iPad: save the PNG to Photos and import it, or open a skin pack, and fully close the game when a pack does not show.
On iPhone and iPad the game is Bedrock Edition. A custom skin goes on in the Dressing Room, from a PNG picture or from a skin pack (.mcpack). The one thing to know on an iPhone: Choose New Skin picks the picture from your photos, so the easy route is to have the PNG in Photos first.
Get the PNG into Photos
- From the Scan2Skin 3D app: Save PNG adds the skin to Photos. The app asks once for permission to add photos; it can never see the photos in your library.
- From a website in Safari: touch and hold the picture and choose to save it to Photos. If it downloaded as a file instead, open it in the Files app, tap Share, then Save Image.
Import the PNG
- Open the game and select Dressing Room.
- Open Classic Skins.
- Under Owned, select Import, then Choose New Skin.
- Pick the skin from your photos.
- Choose Classic or Slim to match the file, and confirm.
Or open a skin pack
- In the Scan2Skin 3D app, tap Open skin pack. Or tap the .mcpack file in the Files app.
- The game opens and imports the pack, and says when the import starts and when it is done.
- In the Dressing Room, open Classic Skins: the pack is listed under its name. Choose a skin and Equip.
Close the game completely
The game reads new skin packs when it starts, so a pack that arrives while it runs shows up after a restart. Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and pause in the middle. In the open apps, flick the game's card up and off the screen. Then open the game again.
If it still does not work
See skin not working, and check Only Allow Trusted Skins.
Make a skin now, in your browser: five guided photos with the camera, or photos already taken. Nothing is uploaded. The Scan2Skin 3D app for iPhone and Android adds scan yourself, HD skins and Pro.
