What the phone app adds to the website: scan yourself with spoken cues, a walk-around on Android, HD skins and the pixel editor with Pro, and where to get it.

Scan2Skin 3D: Avatar Creator is the phone version of this website. It makes the same pixel-art skins from photos of a person, with more ways to take the photos, HD skins, and a pixel editor that is yours to keep with Pro. It works without an internet connection, except for ads and purchases.
Three ways to take the photos
- Guided photos. Someone holds the phone and takes five photos: front, both sides, back and a face close-up. Each one is checked as you go, and a photo that needs a retake says so at once.
- Scan yourself. Prop the phone up and turn on the spot while spoken cues guide you. On iPhone and Android.
- Walk-around. Someone films a slow walk around you and the app picks the photos, using the depth from motion that ARCore provides. On Android phones that support it. It needs a clear space about 4 m (13 ft) across, more for a tall person; in a smaller room, guided photos are the better choice.

Pro
Pro is a one-time purchase in the app, through the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android: no ads, the pixel editor with beards and jewelry and decoration stamps, and HD skins (128 x 128) for Bedrock Edition, as a PNG and as a skin pack. "Restore purchases" in Settings brings Pro back on a new phone.
Private by design
Everything happens on your phone. The photos are analyzed on the device and deleted when the capture ends; face and body proportions are never saved. There is no account and no sign-in. Ads are child-directed and non-personalized. Scan only yourself or someone who agrees, and ask a parent before scanning a child. The privacy policy has the details.
What you need
- An iPhone with iOS 15 or later.
- An Android phone with Android 8.0 or later. The walk-around needs a phone that supports ARCore depth.
- Minecraft: Java Edition or Bedrock Edition to wear the skin: the guides show how.
